Relaxing, beautiful setting, very comfortable beach house, friendly and helpful staff. The weather in January was perfect and the beaches were empty and beautiful. All in all a perfect spot for a great vacation. Would recommend renting bicycles to make it easier to go into town and explore.

The pictures do not do Casa Las Piedras justice! What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy life. We had a party of 8 staying here. The food was superb, and the house a dream! It was so quiet, except for the sounds of the Ocean. We would return to this spot in a heart beat.

Another fabulous vacation is coming to a close & trust me, I am not happy about that! I will be in touch once we return home....but I just wanted you to know that we enjoyed our stay once again at your beautiful home. Anai is a charm. You are truly blessed to have her and her family here!
Betsy from Seattle's stay in Jan. 2011
Effy, I loved my stay in Troncones. One of the main reasons was your nice house and the kindness of Anai who really looked out for us. I'm trying to convince my husband that he would like it too, and that we should go back... I'd like to practice some more surf! thank you from Betsy Tournier

If you want to renew yourself spiritually, DO come here; take long walks on miles of pristine beach with nothing for company but seabirds and ancient rock formations. Practice yoga by the sea in complete privacy, just you, sky and sand. Relax and rejuvenate in the tranquil lush gardens of a beautifully constructed beach home filled with charming comforts, local crafts and designed for living by the sea. Listen to the roar of the surf as it lulls you into a restful night's sleep, and wake to the sounds of egrets and herons fishing in the early morning, their forms appearing as graceful sculptures on the jagged rocks. This is a true paradise for beach lovers, and you'll leave fulfilled and refreshed

Although this might seem a little late for a review, considering we were there last February, it's also being written in anticipation of our return!
We spent 3 nights at Casa Las Piedras last year and will be spending 7 nights this year...arriving in 4 weeks, to be exact.
Anais, the house manager, is a true gem. She is an excellent cook and breakfasts were a treat. Fresh juice, fresh fruit, yogurt and an entree which changed daily - crepes, chilaquiles, eggs. We mentioned to Anais that we really liked a local cucumber drink that we had while in Zihua - she surprised us the next morning and had it prepared for us! You just don't get that kind of service and personal attention anywhere!!
We stayed in the Tango suite. It was well appointed and very comfortable. The bathroom is to die for!!
The sitting area by the pool is a great place to kick back and relax. There's a covered deck/yoga platform at the edge of the property, just along the beach. It is the spot to watch the sunset - we were fortunate to see a couple of whales pass by one evening.
Casa Las Piedras is an easy walk to Playa Manzanillo which has the most swimmable water in the area. There are great restaurants near by: Cenaduria Rufi's (a must go on Wednesdays!), Costa Brava, Cafe del Sol, Marta's (in Majahua). Anais can also prepare a dinner at the house for an extra fee.
Troncones is a special place....Casa Las Piedras will make your stay memorable

Thank you! it was an amazing event [wedding]. everything just came together so perfectly. seeing the pictures brings it all back--the warmth, the sunshine, the good feelings all around. our guests were blown away by Casa Las Piedras, they couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was. breakfasts were amazing and Anai was an angel. My daughter and i made all the flowers. thank goodness for her fine motor skills. they turned out even better than i expected.

A stay at Casa Las Piedras feels like being at a friend's beach house...very casual, warm, and relaxing. Every morning, the friendly staff prepares breakfast, cleans your room, and then disappears to their living quarters on the property.....available should you need them, but out of sight for your privacy. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the infinity pool faces the ocean, as do all four of the guest rooms. This is the quintessential oceanfront vacation at an exceptional value. If you're in need of pampering, this may not be the be the property for you, nor is Troncones the right beach for that kind of traveler. But for the seasoned traveler looking for a laid back and unpretentious getaway, you're not likely to be disappointed.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay at Casa Las Piedras. What a beautiful place... we had such a hard time leaving! We ended up staying an extra day because both girls were having such a wonderful time...and we were too. Gracias mucho.

I love this place. We walked at the beach every morning. The housekeepers are very friendly. I will go there again.

Sadie From Portland, Oregon's stay on May.,2010
My husband and I have been to Troncones a couple of times and Casa Las Piedras is the best place we have stayed so far!! The house is so beautifully constructed and well taken care of. The grounds are beautiful as well and the view and location are perfect! I did a lot of research before we went on this trip and this is one of the best places to stay where you get the most for your money. We had a different breakfast every morning for 9 days and they were all very good. We loved the outdoor shower. One of the best things about the house is the overflowing pool that has a great view to the beach and the ocean. We also spent time on the platform built right on the beach just reading and relaxing. I can't say enough!! We are so excited to return to this location.

We really got Lucky with this Live Auction Item. We were not sure what we had actually bid on until we arrived. After getting over the concerns about safety in Mexico (this place is very safe) we made our way to this small fishing village north of Ixtapa. The size of the house was perfect for four couples, (we all love to spend time together anyway). The house and location may not be perfect for everyone, but it was for us. Beautiful surroundings, very unique architecture, and the ocean just out our back door. We had the whole place to ourselves and felt like we could stay for weeks. But the best part was...Anai, and her family (caretakers). They treated us so well, and were so kind, we felt like Family by the time we left. ( I will always have a warm place in my heart for them) We hope to return next year, and possibly for years to come.

Unfortunately there are many of us who have gotten the word out on how wonderful Casa Las Piedras is. So now we have to compete with all of you for availability! Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. The location is perfect---nice walk to Manzanillo Bay to the north and to Troncones proper to the south. Walk the road or walk the beach. Anai and Jorge are the best. The breakfasts are awesome. Pay them to make you dinner one night. It is really fun to eat in gourmet. No restaurant has a better setting than CLP. The "Tango Suite" upstaris is our personal favorite room in all of Troncones---and we have seen most of the hundreds of them. If you can swing it, go for that room and you will always thank us! If not, get the second largest largest room, which is on the ground floor. It is really nice too. The remaining two small rooms on the ground floor are much more modest than the two larger ones just mentioned, which would surely lessen the experience for us, but the house is still great and all the amazing common areas are shared. On this point, it is important to realize that you are most likely sharing the house with other people, so if complete solitude is your paramount concern, then beware. This might not be for you. Sometimes we have had the whole house to ourselves, and the other times, we have thoroughly enjoyed the other guests. We have never had a bad experience sharing the house with others, but life is always a gamble when people are involved! We enjoy interacting with others who have similar tastes in their vacationing, so we have found it to be a plus. And remember that people are usually out exploring much of the time, so even when the house is sold out, it is rare for most people to be there at the same time. Having said that, the only word of caution is that it might be wise to check with the owner beforehand to see if you are going to be sharing the place with a group of surfers from the surf club, since one review complained about that, and a crew of loud surfers would definitely change the character of the place for us. Again, we have had nothing but PERFECT experiences here in our 6 or so visits, and we are returning again this month! Yay! To repeat, if you can afford the Tango Suite upstairs, you should definitely splurge. It is awesome!!!! And it gives you a very spacious place to go and rest when you want solitude, which very much helps with the 'sharing the house' issue, if that is your concern

I have stayed at CLP several times over the years, always in the high season, between November and April. To my way of thinking, Troncones is just a wonderful place, and CLP is truly exceptional, even in a place with many exceptional properties, most of which I have stayed in or visited. CLP's stunning architecture, lush landscaping, and sweet hospitality will envelop you and make you feel so taken care of and comfortable you'll be on cloud nine. CLP manages to be very luxurious without being too precious, and this is not easy to achieve. CLP is a very natural and---yes, as eye-rolling as it sounds---earth-friendly experience---no A/C, no glass windows, for example. To me, this is true luxury, not faux luxury, but if you prefer high rises, room service, and watching Regis and Kathy Lee in bed with automatic climate control, best look elsewhere. CLP is all about indoor/outdoor...LOVING---with the constant sound of the surf coming ashore just steps away, always in view, and framed by the amazing garden and pool built into the home as one sculpture. To me, it is simply a masterpiece of delight. And if you are like me, you will want to make CLP a habit once you experience it. Just please don't book it up when I want to come! ;-) Cheers

I must say I am reluctant to recommend Casa las Piedras; reluctant to SHARE this place with the rest of you!! We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The Casa is nicely appointed, the price quite reasonable, the communication via email smooth, the wonderful variety of breakfasts deliciously done by Anai and her staff, and finally my own stretch of body surfing paradise.

We just wanted to let you know we had the most wonderful week at your beautiful home. we loved casa las piedras.....the setting is gorgeous and peaceful, the home is spacious and lovely and has all the amenities one needs, the staff could not have been better. anai and anna prepared delicious meals each morning. not only were they presented beautifully, but they were incredibly good! we got completely spoiled. anai is such a sweet young woman...always with a smile on her face and helpful with restaurant suggestions, making reservations for us and shopping. what a delightful experience! jorge worked hard and isa was adorable. he is going to be a great "big brother". we hardly left the house. we walked the beach, read, played games, swam in the pool and ocean, the guys surfed and we ate and drank plenty! the sunsets were spectacular. i took over 700 pictures! we all thoroughly relaxed. our group ranged in age from 19-57. it was the perfect spot for all of us. so thank you so much...we hope to go back in the future. most appreciative...sue (and all)
