Casa Las Piedras was designed by Enrique Zozaya, pre-eminent Mexican architect from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Zozaya is known for his use of local materials in the luxury villas, guest houses, and hotels he has built across the Mexican Riviera. The open design of the common areas creates a sense of intimacy with the natural environment. Rising from the center of the sitting area are double tree trunks supporting the tall, vaulted ceiling. A floating circular staircase leads to the Tango Suite. The sound of the surf and ocean breezes fill the air. The living and dining areas front the pool, pergola, and gardens, providing many spots for privacy and relaxation. A platform to enjoy yoga practice and evening sunsets overlooks the ocean. A path from the pool leads down to the beach. |
